Regular People Are Tired of the Status Quo

There are a lot of parts of our political system that frustrate me.

I’m infuriated that we now let unlimited money into our politics, causing our representatives to serve whatever Big Money billionaire or corporate special interest can write the largest campaign check.

I’m flabbergasted that our politicians willingly let issues fester for the sake of using them as election props for re-election.

I’m frustrated that every single South Dakotan I’ve spoken to sees the same problems that I do, and yet our elected representatives won’t do anything about it. The problem persists all across the spectrum. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, and everyone in between is fed up.

Anyone who’s been to one of my events in South Dakota knows that I prefer to have conversations with people. Just as much as I’m there to share my background and my plans for South Dakota in the U.S. Senate, I’m also there to make sure I hear about the major issues people care about.

South Dakotans are stuck, forced to decide between gas and groceries. There’s less money in everybody’s wallet, and it’s making life for every American harder in the process. When more and more Americans are struggling, it means more people who are only able to look ahead a month or two to make ends meet. It caps our creativity, our ingenuity, and our prosperity.

We are fed up with it.

This race is winnable, and we’re sprinting through the finish line to make it happen. If you’d like to see an Independent voice in Washington who will fight to make government work for regular folks, please consider chipping in to the campaign today.

Many people I speak to (including myself) are tired of feeling like they only vote against things, rather than for them. I’ve certainly encountered that as a lifelong Independent, and that’s why I’m running to be a different type of candidate.

Over the 17 months I’ve been campaigning, I’ve worked to be a candidate that folks can proudly vote for, rather than just being the vessel for people to vote against my opponent. Doesn’t saying “yes” to something you believe in feel so much better than simply saying “no” to something you don’t?

People are fed up with the status quo. They want to see someone step up who is willing to fight for them, and that’s exactly who I am. I don’t back down when the going gets tough, because that’s what tells me I’m on the right track.

I also know I’m on the right track from what I’m hearing on the ground. Not a day has gone by over the past month that I haven’t been recognized in public. I was door-knocking in Rapid City the other day, and the responses I got from voters were overwhelmingly supportive once they heard my background and message.

We have just ten days left. The path to victory is open, but it isn’t going to be easy. I’m going to spend these days out and about working to earn as many votes as possible. Fortunately, I’m going to do it with the momentum we’ve been building with support from folks like you.

Thank you for reading.

Independent Candidate for U.S. Senate

This race is winnable. We’re being hammered by Big Money PACs supporting my opponent. To close the gap, we need to keep our ads running so that South Dakotans hear my name and message. If you can chip in $30 today, it’ll go a long way to giving South Dakotans an Independent voice.
